Evanescence – The Open Door

Evanescence is currently working on their second album, titled The Open Door, due for release on October 3, 2006 (see press release).

The album will feature 13 tracks, including first single ‘Call Me When You’re Sober’, and the second single ‘Good Enough’. Lee reported that ‘Good Enough’ is not like any other ballad she has written before as its background is more happy. Another track off the album is titled ‘Weight Of The World’ and a cover of Lacrimosa from Mozart’s Requiem

The album has progressed slowly for a number of reasons, but perhaps chiefly because of Amy Lee’s desire to allow the creative process to fully take its course and not rush production. Besides that, other distractions have included other band members’ side projects, health problems concerning guitarist Terry Balsamo and the controversy revolving around the dismissal of their former manager. Lee stated on EvBoard that Evanescence’s new album will be wrapping up in March 2006. The release was pushed to October, allegedly because “Wind-Up [the band’s current record label] wants to make a few changes to the upcoming single ‘Call Me When You’re Sober’

The Evanescence website was also updated after a long period of stasis to reflect the aforementioned press release.

  3. You know, this is NOT their second album. This is their fourth or fifth. Fallen was not the first, though it was the first one everyone knew about…

  4. @nick: The Opeen Door is their second album under WindUp records. Albums released by Evanescence:
    1. Sound Asleep (just 50 copies) released as demo.
    2. Origin
    3. Fallen
    4. Anywhere but Home, not really as an album but at least is a release
    5. The Open Door (incoming)

  5. “The Open Door” is their second album… “Origin” is not considered an album by Amy, because it’s most defined as a compilation of demos to show to great labels… “Fallen” was indeed their first album, and “Anywhere But Home” their first CD/DVD… About the information, it is known that “Good Enough” won’t be their second album and there’s still a fourth confirmed title “Lacrimosa”, a Mozart’s cover…

  8. Thanks!!! About the second single, it’s still being considered – it may be “Good Enough”, but nothing is decided yet – they are still thinking… We know after the release. Amy already wrote to us – as she said “she wasn’t aiming to give people the music they were expecting” – So, “The Open Door” will be totally different from “Fallen”

Evanescence, para mi, es una alquimia perfecta entre la fuerza y la pulcritud, todo envuelto en una voz carismática, capaz de tocar fibras emocionales muy íntimas desde la agresión hasta el llanto, pasandopor todas sus variedades.
